MOE awarded "Best of Show" at Bio-IT World Expo in San Diego
SAN DIEGO/MONTREAL, November 20, 2002
Chemical Computing Group, Inc. (CCG), was honored with an award for outstanding technology leadership in the Life Sciences at the Bio-IT World Conference & Expo held in San Diego on November 12-14. CCG’s product, the Molecular Operating Environment (MOE), received the first ever "Best of Show award for Supporting Applications " from a panel of judges led by the editors of Bio-IT World magazine.
MOE was selected for making a "significant, measurable impact on the life sciences sector by enabling scientists and other industry professionals to accelerate and streamline the critical research and development process," said John Russell, executive editor, Bio-IT World, and project manager for the "Best of Show" Awards.
Terry Higgins, Director of Research & Development for CCG, said "We’re delighted that MOE has been recognized with this award. Researchers face many problems throughout the discovery process and our goal has always been to provide them with solutions that increase productivity. But this is also recognition of MOE’s advantages to those responsible for planning, designing, and maintaining IT infrastructure for drug discovery. Those benefits include our support for so many vendors’ computers and operating systems, batch processing, distributed processing, MOE/web, and the power of our embedded programming language for integrating MOE with the other software and systems companies are using."
The winners were chosen based on technical merit, functionality, the product’s ability to address critical life sciences research and development issues, and product demonstrations to an expert panel of judges. The announcement took place at an evening ceremony on November 13, 2002, at the San Diego Convention Center.
